Modern Foreign Languages

Year 7, 8 and 9

Spanish at Moor Park High School and Sixth Form aims to enthuse and prepare students for life in the Multicultural world by equipping them with the skills needed to communicate in a Foreign Language. Students are regularly assessed on listening, reading, writing and speaking skills and are encouraged to participate in the engaging and active approach to lessons which regularly include a cultural dimension. The Faculty of MFL uses varying approaches to Teaching and Learning although the Communicative approach best complements our interactive lessons. Student engagement and participation is at the heart of our challenge based learning.

Year 10 and 11

The Spanish curriculum in KS4 is more challenging and dynamic, building on the key aspects acquired during study at KS3. Following the AQA GCSE course, students are encouraged and supported in developing their prior learning and actively enhance their capacity for communication throughout the lessons. Following a communicative approach to teaching and learning allows our students to enjoy their language learning journey and promotes high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge.
