World Book Day – 1 March 2018

World Book Day is fast approaching and the English faculty have got lots of activities and competitions planned. There will be lots of activities in registers next week that  tutor groups will be involved with. There will also be activities in the LRC during break and lunch.

There will be a Where’s Wally search where students have to find all the letters to make up the name of a famous author and find out more about the author. Teachers will wear, upon their person, a quotation from a specific text by the author and students have to try and find all the texts and quotes. Again, there will be prizes.

There will also be a Staff Shelfies competition where we display pictures of staff book shelves in the LRC and students try and guess who they belong to.

This year we will be running “Dress a Door” interform competition, this was hugely successful amongst staff last year. Forms will get involved in choosing a book or author and dressing up the door to their door during citizenship on Thursday. Miss Morgan will be taking pictures and there’s a prize for the winning form. No cheating!

Miss Schwarz will also be getting involved with the World Book Day Award – where we could win a life changing library of books for our school!! Click here for more information.

Parents this is a fantastic opportunity for you to share your favourite childhood book with your child/children – or maybe let them share their favourite book with you at home!!
