Moor Park’s tradition of entrepreneurial excellence continued in fine style at the Young Star Enterprise Challenge. The competition, organised by the Community Gateway Association, was held at the Westleigh Conference Centre in Preston.
The challenge involved teams developing an idea and business plan for an affordable, sustainable and feasible service or product. The idea then had to be pitched to a panel of local business people.
Out of ten competing teams, Moor Park secured first and second winning places. In first place were Ayesha Patel, Aaliya Yousuf and Aysha Patel with their ‘Sock Puppet’ idea. In second place with their luxury confectionary idea, called ‘Sweet Success’, were Aadil Ossmanie, Raeesha Ossmanie, Aasim Patel and Umar Polli.
The panel of judges paid tribute to the winning teams for the clarity and effectiveness of their presentations and the close attention to detail in their business plans. This tremendous achievement by Moor Park students, coming so soon after winning the Young Entrepreneurs 2012 competition, firmly establishes the school’s status as a centre of business and enterprise distinction.
