Friday 11 April brings to a close a very long term in which we have introduced more formal school tests than ever before to prepare pupils for their GCSEs and AS examinations which start on 12 May. I particularly wish to mention the teachers and staff who have put in a lot of extra work preparing tests, marking papers and producing reports. National examinations are going to be more difficult in future. Therefore we must ensure our students are ready to meet this challenge.
The Easter Summer Revision School will be taking place during the second week of the holiday and all Year 11 and 12 students have received information about this important opportunity to prepare for their examinations next term. It is crucial that they make every effort to attend and ensure they are fully prepared for their tests.
There are major changes ahead. National examinations are changing; the curriculum is changing; and the school day is changing. It is therefore important you are fully informed as these changes will affect you and your children.
The school day is also changing and we welcome your views on those changes (please click here to view the parent/carer letter in full). Please submit your views before Friday 2 May 2014.
