Over the past month Moor Park has been a hive of entrepreneurial activity, all in aid of supporting a fantastic charity.
The “WildHearts Micro Tyco Business Challenge” sets the task of turning £1 into as much money as possible which is then used to support business and enterprise in the developing world.
Just one example of how Moor Park pupils rose to the challenge with gusto is a group of five Year 8 boys who turned their £1 into a magnificent £510.
The boys used their initiative to secure a range of donations from local businesses and organisations, including football tickets from Preston North End, a mobile phone, a pair of binoculars and even a cash gift from the local army barracks.
All of the donations were then used to raise money through raffles, sales and a bingo and coffee morning.
The overall total raised by Moor Park pupils for Micro Tyco exceeds £1700 – an absolute triumph of entrepreneurial spirit and application.
Many congratulations to everyone involved.
