In June, a group of six Year 9 pupils from Moor Park took part in the grand final of the prestigious “Make It” design technology competition for schools, held at the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester.
The early round of the competition was open to 180 schools from around the country. Moor Park was one of only 20 schools to make it to the final!
The challenge was to design a product to be sold at this summer’s Olympic Village, and also to design and build a prototype vehicle to transport the product among the Olympic athletes. These were to be presented to a “Dragon’s Den” style judging panel.
Despite not winning on this occasion, the Moor Park team worked hard throughout the day and managed to complete the very challenging task. Particular congratulations go to Aamir Master who was given special commendation by the judges for being “confident and articulate” when presenting to them.
Well done to all of the pupils who took part – Aamir Master, Maciej Lukaszyk, Sanah Hussain, Abdul-Rehman Bax, Nuraquilah Yusri and Mahmoona Hussain.
