The ancient, dreaming spires of Oxford University welcomed some high achieving Year 11 Moor Park pupils in November. The pupils went in order to attend an ‘Investigating Options Day’ which forms part of the Oxford Pathways programme. This outreach programme provides information, advice and guidance on higher education and Oxford University to academically able pupils.
Throughout the day, lectures, workshops and question and answer sessions shed light on the process of applying to university and studying at Oxford. Pupils had the opportunity to speak to current undergraduates and postgraduates about subject choices, university life and career paths.
The day ended with a tour of Oxford’s famous buildings and monuments including the Bodleian Library, The Sheldonian Theatre and the Bridge of Sighs.
The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the day and came away from Oxford with their aims set high.
